Ashburn Chemical Technologies Donates to Christian Community Service Center (CCSC)
HOUSTON, TX. – Ashburn Chemical Technologies, the supplier of FLUID360™ and FACILITYCARE360™ solutions that help our customers GO BEYOND to protect people, processes and production, is grateful to have been able to donate Ashburn essential products to Houston’s Christian Community Service Center (CCSC).
“The “Six C’s” of Ashburn’s culture defines everything we do and how we work together to serve others: consideration, customer needs, continuous improvement, cash flow, community and common sense,” said Ashburn Company President, Eric Heinle. “It is this commitment to serving the community and supporting the communities where we live and work that drove Ashburn’s desire to get involved and partner with CCSC in the mission of serving Houston’s poor, hungry, disabled and otherwise needy.”
CCSC is a community-based nonprofit organization serving central Houston. CCSC was incorporated in 1980 and since that time CCSC has grown to encompass a coalition of 39 churches united in service. The mission of CCSC is to serve the poor, hungry, disabled, and otherwise needy while respecting their religious, ethnic or cultural differences. CCSC was created out of faith and founded in the belief that we are called to help all God’s children heart to heart and hand in hand.
“We are incredibly grateful for Ashburn’s donations of hand sanitizer and disinfectant. These items will assist us in keeping employees, volunteers and the community we serve safe,” Emergency Services-Central Manager Lydia Bias said.
Thanks to over 1,000 volunteers, CCSC currently offers services through the following outreach programs: Emergency Services-Central, Emergency Services-Southwest, JobNet, Martha’s Way, the Professional Home Caregiver Training Program, Jingle Bell Express, Back to School and The Louise J. Moran Vision Care Program.
Ashburn was able to donate several cases of hand sanitizer and hand sanitizer dispensers as well as 20 cases of disinfectant to assist in the effort to keep the CCSC’s clients safe. “I am so proud to work for an organization that participates in the community,” said Julie Bodine, VP of Marketing or Ashburn Chemical. “CCSC does so much for their clients, I’m grateful we could assist by providing them with the industry’s best FACILITYCARE360™ products.”
CCSC was founded through a grassroots effort begun in 1977 by Dean Robinson, a diaconal minister on the staff of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church. In 1980, six churches (St. Luke’s United Methodist, St. John the Divine Episcopal, St. Andrew’s Presbyterian, Central Presbyterian, Bethany Christian and St. Stephen’s Episcopal) incorporated to create CCSC as a Texas nonprofit corporation.
The original vision of the founding churches was to create an organization to fulfill the Church’s call to meet the immediate needs of people in crisis. By banding together, churches could maximize community resources and prevent duplication of services. CCSC then became the local outreach office of its member churches, and today it is a coalition of 39 unique Christian churches.
CCSC has flourished and grown over the years, with programs developing and adapting to changing community needs. Yet the organization’s founding mission and values remain steady, and in recognition of this the Board of Directors finalized the statement below to codify CCSC’s unique culture.
